Violet Cochrane is a Litigation Paralegal at Phillips & Associates, where she provides vital support to a team of attorneys who zealously litigate employment discrimination and sexual harassment cases. Her team treats every unique case with rigor and care, whether in litigation, in negotiations, or pending investigation by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She assists with all aspects of case management, including document drafting, legal research, client communication, and discovery, ensuring that matters move efficiently from intake through resolution. She has a strong passion for the law and for protecting the rights to which every person is entitled.
Before joining the firm, Violet gained extensive civil litigation experience at a plaintiff-side personal injury firm, where she diligently handled a wide variety of pre-litigation and litigation matters. She served as an essential resource to injured clients by handling all day-to-day proceedings of their no-fault and bodily injury claims. She also helped secure multiple six-figure settlements for the firm’s clients through her skillful composition of demand letters. Violet gained further legal experience in the Office of General Counsel at a major university, providing support to multiple litigation attorneys. In addition to her legal experience,
Violet has a strong background in administrative support, bookkeeping, and customer service.
Violet graduated magna cum laude from SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Arts in History, with dual minors in Spanish and Latin American & Caribbean Studies. During her studies, she was awarded the History Department’s Best Senior Seminar Paper Prize. Most recently, she earned her Certificate in Paralegal Studies from Nassau Community College’s ABA-approved program to further her legal knowledge. She is also a commissioned Notary Public in New York State.
