About

Jack Kealey is an employment discrimination attorney and an Associate Attorney at Phillips & Associates who was recently recognized by Super Lawyers as a New York Metro Area Rising Star in 2025 for excellence in the practice of law rated by a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.  At Phillips & Associates, Jack represents a broad range of employees who have experienced sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in the workplace.  This includes individuals who have been subjected to discrimination based on race, gender, age, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, and criminal conviction.  Jack also advocates for employees who have been retaliated against for reporting unethical and illegal activity to their supervisors.

Jack is admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.  He obtained his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School, with cum laude honors.  During law school, Jack interned with the Honorable Vera M. Scanlon in the Eastern District of New York.  He was also a member of the Journal of Law and Policy, which published his note Preserving Fabled Amateurism: The Benefits of the NCAA's Adoption of the Olympic Amateurism Model that addressed the implications of the NCAA's then anticipated abolition of the prohibition on student athletes from being compensated for use of their name, image, and likeness on employment and other civil rights laws.

Jack started his career as a litigation associate at a boutique entertainment law firm in New York City, where he represented clients in federal and state actions involving commercial, employment, and intellectual property claims.  Prior to joining Phillips & Associates, he was an associate at a mid-size Long Island-based law firm where he represented New York-based healthcare systems and private healthcare practices in lawsuits and arbitrations concerning employment, real estate, and commercial claims.

Jack's years of employment litigation experience, both on the employer and employee side, allow him to swiftly negotiate favorable settlements for employees who have experienced workplace mistreatment.  This includes securing a pre-litigation settlement of over $400,000 for a C-suite executive who experienced discrimination based on gender and pregnancy.  Jack is also an accomplished litigator who has successfully handled hundreds of court hearings and numerous dispositive motions, including successfully opposing a summary judgment motion filed by a Fortune 500 company against an employee alleging disability and age discrimination.
