Our team at Phillips & Associates, PLLC is proud to announce that we have been ranked in the 2026 Chambers USA Guide for Labor & Employment: Mainly Plaintiffs in New York.

Chambers and Partners is one of the most closely watched legal ranking organizations in the country, and the recognition reflects our work representing employees in harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and high-profile employment matters.

The ranking joins a body of work we've built since opening our doors in 2011:

  • More than $360 million recovered for over 9,500 employees
  • Nearly 2,000 employment cases litigated
  • Recognized in Best Law Firms 2026 for Litigation, Labor and Employment
  • 15 attorneys named to Super Lawyers®, with 13 attorneys qualifying for the Million Dollar Advocates Forum or Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum
  • More than 200 years of combined employment-law experience among our attorneys
  • Employees only. We have never represented an employer.

What Is the Chambers USA Guide?

Chambers USA is an independent legal ranking guide that evaluates law firm departments by practice area and jurisdiction. Firms cannot buy a spot on the list. Chambers' research team reviews submissions, interviews clients and opposing counsel, and studies recent case work before deciding which firms and practice groups get ranked, and submitting information is no guarantee of inclusion.

Chambers placed our labor and employment practice in Band 3 for New York and described us as a reputable plaintiff-side employment firm, citing our team's business judgment, commercial awareness, and practical legal analysis.

Why This Recognition Fits Our Work

We represent employees across the full range of workplace disputes, including those involving sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation. A recurring thread in many of these cases, including several of the high-profile matters cited in our Chambers recognition, is how someone in a position of authority, a supervisor, executive, physician, or business owner, used control over an employee's compensation, assignments, or continued employment. As founder William K. Phillips put it, employment cases are rarely just about what happened. They are about who had power and how it was used.

That focus shows up in our litigation record. Our attorneys secured Second Circuit precedent in Vasquez v. Empress Ambulance Service, extending the cat's paw theory of retaliation to nonsupervisory employees, and won a $1.8 million jury verdict in Pardovani v. Crown Building Maintenance in the Southern District of New York, among many other important precedents and decisions.

We have litigated against more than 550 management-side defense firms, and that trial-ready reputation is often what pushes a case toward a favorable resolution before it reaches a courtroom. Past results do not guarantee a similar outcome, and every matter depends on its own facts.
